It was 1976 when the desire to have the ultimate fishing rod, with all the latest state of the art components, is when I realized that the only way to acheive this was to build a custom rod. Once I started, the passion took hold. It wasn't long after that first build that requests started to come in to build custom rods for all types of fisherman, and for many different reasons. Known for building high end Bass tournament rods with quality craftmanship, it wasn't long before we had request from local tackle stores to not only carry our rods, but to build rods for their shop. Soon after, the internet came along, opening new markets, and the business just kept growing.
Our drive at VRC Rods, was not to accept the "status quo", but to build something better. That desire to build something better, led us to develop the patented Vetre Matrix Handle System, which is still being used today. Spin offs of our "no threads exposed" reel seat feature and rear locking grips, are currently being used by many manufacturers. The system also offered the first of it's kind rear locking trigger seat. At VRC, it was important to not just "source" the same imported blanks used by other manufacturers, but to develop our own proprietary blanks designed around what we call a “Balanced Approach”. These Made in the USA blanks are a culmination of the highest quality materials, and design input from accomplished anglers with thousands of hours of fishing experience.
Since the beginning through today, every VRC rod continues to be crafted to exacting standards, where the words “good enough”, or “no one will know the difference”, are never spoken by anyone associated with their creation. Our goal is to make rods that will be your first choice when it's time for you to enjoy yourself on the water.
